Contract Teacher Positions Available (August 1, 2018~July 31, 2019)
Holistic Center, Fu Jen Catholic University

New Taipei City, Taiwan

  • ★Quota: Three contract lecturers/assistant professors (or above); 1-year renewable contract for 3 years (teaching type, not tenure-track)
  •  
  • ★Qualification: M.A. (with MOE teacher certificate)/Ph.D. in TESOL or Applied Linguistics (specialization in English for Specific Purposes a plus)
  •  
  • ★Teaching duties in General English (Freshman and Sophomore English), 10~16 hours per week, available for classes at night or on Saturday
  •  
  • ★Capable of conducting courses in English
  •  
  • ★Short-listed candidates will be contacted for interviews.
  • ★Send (all required, in English):
  1. A cover letter that includes times available for an onsite, (online, or telephone) interview from March 26 to March 30 & April 9 to April 13, 2018,
  2. A full CV (or personal Video Résumé links), with a list of publications; an English biography (including application motivation and teaching philosophy),
  3. Graduate transcripts, a copy of M.A. or Ph.D. diploma, and a copy of MOE Teacher Certificate (a must for MA degree holder),
  4. A sample course syllabus each for Freshman English (4-skill, CEFR A2 level, for 18 weeks), and Sophomore English (with an emphasis on any skills or themes, CEFR B1 level, for 18 weeks), and
  5. 1-2 letters of reference

  1. Course evaluations of the recent three years, if applicant has teaching experience,
  2. A teaching CD (approx. 20 minutes) or personal teaching website, self-made teaching materials or handouts,
  3. A hard copy of doctoral dissertation and abstract (not required for teachers with MOE certificate), and
  4. Samples of English publication and abstract
